You're lined up with your Dream Destination. You've set your goal on the near horizon - the place you'd like to visit along the way. What next? Well it's time to GET MOVING!
Now, if you're thinking "Hang on a minute, Kate. You promised me 'effortless success', and now I have to actually DO something?" Well, yes - of course you do! Effortless success isn't about sitting around all day waiting for something to happen. That might be nice for a while, but let's face it - the novelty would soon wear off! No. Effortless success is about setting out on your true Journey, following your dreams and desires - and having a whole lot of fun along the way. Effortless success is setting yourself to Cruise Control and Enjoying the Ride!
I know you know this. I know you'll have had days where you driven through your To Do list, but then questioned "what was that all about?". Those are the days when you go home and drop onto the sofa feeling like a wrung out sponge! I also know you'll have had days when you were on the go from dawn 'til dusk, putting tons of energy into activities that felt meaningful to you, and you dropped onto the sofa buzzing and ready for more! In the first case you motivated yourself to take action, Driving Hard to put problems (or the potential consequences of inaction) behind you. In the second case you were inspired to take action, moving towards your vision and Enjoying the Ride. It's not how much action we take that makes the difference between the struggle of Driving Hard and and the ease and flow of Enjoying the Ride; it's the quality of the experience we have along the way.
So here's the first key to effortless success:
Take inspired action!
And if it doesn't feel inspired, don't do it - yet! Take a moment to line yourself up first. Reconnect to your Dream and your goal. Fuel yourself with your powerful personal vision. Feel the excitement and anticipation as you consciously recognise how the small action you are about to take will move you in the right direction. And then - and only then - get moving!
"Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing conditions." Mark Twain
